John Lavack
John Lavack has known since childhood that he experiences the world differently. As a young boy, he used to sneak into the backyard to play with energies he could see there—until his parents, concerned by what they observed, stopped letting him go outside unsupervised. It took him decades to understand that what he was perceiving was not something everyone shared.
Rather than dismiss his experience, John eventually decided to find out if it was real. That investigation began in earnest in the early 1970s and has never stopped. Over more than fifty years, John has pursued an extraordinarily wide-ranging education—one that crosses international borders, disciplines, and traditions, and runs alongside a career that has included flying helicopters. He has trained in Transcendental Meditation, NLP (at the Master Practitioner level), beginning as a teenager with Napoleon Hill and Dale Carnegie and never really stopping. His first formal teacher, Dr. Eugene Albright, introduced him to unicotometrics and psychosomatics, and Francesca McCartney’s structured approach to energy anatomy gave him some of the most practical tools in his repertoire.
The turning point came when John encountered Dr. Bill Bengston—not in a healing context, but in a classroom. Bengston was his Statistics and Research Methods professor while John was pursuing his PhD. What began as an acadeimc relationship became something much more. John went on to study the Bengston Method deeply, eventually becoming a teaching assistant for Bengston’s workshops. His collaboration with Bengston has extended into formal research: John was part of a study a the Insitute of Noetic Sciences examinging the recording of healing, with findings published in Dose Response. He is currently participating in laboratory research at MD Anderson Cancer Center—published in Nature—where he is the healer being sutdied for his effects on pancreatic cancer cells, work that sits at a remarkable intersection of ancient practice and modern science.
Today, the Bengston Method is a cornerstone of his healing practice—a foundation he describes as something that enhances every other approache he uses, and as the lens through which he now helps clients and students learn to work with their own energy. John has been a full-time energy healer for over thirty years.
John currently teaches Energy Tools for Everyday Living, a course designed to give people practical, immediately usable tools for managing their own energy field—from grounding and boundary work to clearing physical spaces, shifting stuck emotional states, and learning to consciously create the life they want. It is built for anyone who has ever felt drained by other people’s energy, drawn to this kind of work but unsure where to start, or ready to move beyond talk-based approaches into something more direct and hands-on.
