An Unexpected Addition to Physical Therapy

After shoulder surgery, I spent months in physical therapy working to regain strength and mobility. My recovery was progressing, but I often felt discouraged by how slow the process seemed.
My physical therapist mentioned that some patients found Reiki to be a helpful complement to their recovery. I had never tried energy healing before and honestly wasn't sure what to expect, but I decided to schedule a session out of curiosity.
After the first visit, I mostly noticed that I felt deeply relaxed. I didn't walk away feeling dramatically different, but I slept better that night than I had in weeks.
Over the next month, I continued with both physical therapy and a few Reiki sessions. While I can't say exactly what contributed to my progress, I began feeling more optimistic, more connected to my recovery, and less tense during therapy appointments.
For me, the experience wasn't about replacing traditional care—it was about adding another layer of support during a challenging time.
Looking back, I'm grateful I remained open to trying something new. Even though the changes were subtle, they became a meaningful part of my healing journey.
